Life just got a little busier

I have a feeling that won't end until my kids are grown and married on their own.

When we moved to our new house I really wanted to be able to bring in some extra income. Keith makes enough, but I still get stressed about money (who doesn't!), especially with all that needs to be done around here. So I talked to people about being interested in watching kids in my home and put an ad on ksl.com. (I didn't have much hope with the ad because I couldn't even find it) After a couple of false starts I decided that I needed to have a little more faith that Heavenly Father would provide what we needed. I stopped worrying  about finding an income source (mostly, anyway).

Well, last Saturday I got a call out of the blue from a lady who saw my ad on ksl.com. I called her back and found out she has 2 school-age girls and an 18-month boy. So she came over Saturday evening and we talked. She called my the next Wednesday, and I started watching her kids Thursday! She only needs part-time hours, which is great for me. So now I watch 3 extra kids M,W,F and the little boy on T, TH.

I know the Lord can work in mysterious ways, but sometimes the mysterious part isn't so much fun. Haha! This was a wonderful surprise and great blessing, though!

In the meantime Kailey is getting bigger and Elli is getting smarter. These girls drive me crazy sometimes, but we are learning together how to work things out. For now, I am especially grateful they inherited my ability to tan and not Keith's ability to burn, haha.

So......It's been a while

I haven't blogged in, oh, almost 2 years! I have been thinking about it lately, though, so I'm going to try and be better.

Let's play catch up, eh?

In the last two years:

-I have been staying home with our two girlies.
-Keith got a new job driving truck for ADS. He delivers drainage pipe.
-Keith went to school a little more, and is still figuring out what to do in life. Big decisions.
-Bought a real house!
-Rented out our condo. (The people renting it are....interesting. We are ready for new ones.)
-Eliana is a sunbeam! She does great going to class, although I suspect she isn't the best listener.
-Kailey is in nursery. She actually loves it, but cries for about a minute when we drop her off.
-We are pregnant with baby number three! It's a boy, and his name is Grant! Eliana is really excited and likes to give my tummy kisses. Kailey has no idea and could care less. Haha.
-We have installed sprinklers in our yard and brought in top soil. We are seeding this weekend!
-We had a zoo pass for the past year, so we made good use of it.
-Eliana has made a lot of new friends here and is very independent playing outside with them. She is very stubborn, but is actually very responsible.
-Kailey has shown interest in using the potty, and loves to practice. I'm not ready for her to potty train yet. I don't want to push it.
-Keith taught in Elder's Quorum for about 6 months, and now is 2nd counselor in the Young Men's.
-I teach 4-yr-olds in primary.
-Life is a little crazy, but we are trying to keep up.
-We are super happy. :)

Kailey Ruth Brewer

Well Kailey was finally an eviction notice because we were getting impatient, and she was taking too long! She was born on July 14, 2011 at 5:22 pm, 20 inches long, weighing 7 lbs 7 oz. Perfect! From the time they started Pitocin and broke my water it was about 3 hours and 30 minutes, and only 7 minutes of pushing. My doctor figured it would go quick, but it was even faster than he thought. I had started this pregnancy wanting to give birth naturally and took hypnobirthing classes to help prepare us. I wasn't able to really do the hypnobirthing techniques very well, but the breathing did help me. I am proud to say that I was able to go without any pain medication! It was a good experience and I hope I will be better prepared for the next one :).
Kailey has been a wonderful newborn. She wakes up to eat about every 3 hours at night, although she is more inconsistent during the day. She doesn't like binki's and gags when we give one to her, so that will a bit of a different adventure for us whereas Elli loved her binki. Kailey loves to sleep laying down on her back, if I am holding her she will wiggle around until I lay her down. She is really strong and already has great head control! She also really doesn't like being in the car seat, already!
Kailey has already had her 2 week appointment where she was 8 lbs 4.5oz. She is a great eater and knows how to grow. She was also 21 3/4 inches long.
Elli has been a great big sister and always wants to help. It is nice to have someone to get diapers, wipes, and blankets when they are far away. Of course, we do have to watch so Elli doesn't get too 'motherly' with her.
We are so excited to have added to our family and we just love having another little girl around, they are both so fun!

11 weeks

11 weeks until:

I get a brand new adorable baby girl!
I am done working.....again, haha.
I start my attempt at potty training Elli.
Our 2 bedroom condo becomes very crowded.
I will get much less sleep than I do now, which is saying something.
I lose my excuse of not getting up with Elli at night and in the morning.
I discover the joy and amazement of a newborn baby-again!
I change lots and lots of diapers.
I count wet diapers and poopy diapers.
I attempt natural birthing.

AND I am SUPER DUPER excited!!!!

Time really has gone by so fast. Although sometimes when I look at how long I have left at work it seems like I have forever to go.

Elli has been growing so fast it is nuts. She talks a lot, and especially tries to repeat what we say. She loves to follow other big kids around and copy what they are doing. She does learn a lot by copying them, especially pretend which is the most fun to watch.

New Insurance!

Oh, and a full time position at work, which led to the better insurance!

I am now the full-time teacher in the Infant Room. This means I work with infants aged birth-->2 year. Mostly the kids I have are 6 months to 18 months. I can have up to 4 infants at a time. Crazy? Sometimes! Fun? Yes! It makes me realize that I can handle anything! Especially because I will never have more than 2 kids under the age of 2.

This has definitely been an answer to prayers. We were talking about Keith going to school and what we felt we should do. Which varied from selling our condo and becoming poor college students while Keith went to school full-time to moving in with my parents and him going to school full-time. Well the NEXT DAY my boss pulls me into her office and tells me the Infant Room teacher is stepping down and the position is mine if I want it. OH YEAH!

The cool thing is that it won't be many hours more than what I already do. I will only work about 32 hours a week, and then get all the benefits. Like 3 weeks vacation a year!

Anyway I am SUPER STOKED!!

Other news:

Elli is starting to sign! She will do eat and all done. We are working on drink and thank-you.

So the day to day thing wasn't working for me. Oh wells!

Have I told you that I love to buy clothes for Elli? Sometimes I just want to go buy her a whole new wardrobe because I find one outfit that I love so much! That would be silly though since I do like most of the clothes that she has now. I guess its a good thing she keeps growing so I can get her more!

So I wanted to do more family pictures this week, but it is probably not going to happen until Elli's nose looks good. She was at her grandparents, playing outside and took a spill. Lucky her nose caught the fall, huh? She has also had really bad poopy diapers lately. Yesterday alone she had about 8-holy cow right?! Which also means it has given her a really bad rash on her bum. She really didn't like having her diaper changed before, but now it is ten times worse with her screaming at the whole time. Lovely bonding experience, eh?

On a positive note, we had my nephew Peyton over this last week. It has been a lot of fun and I think Elli will miss having him around. He is 4 1/2 and is a lot of help. I haven't been feeling very good for a couple days now and he will help me take care of Elli. It makes me excited for when we have more kids, though it would be a while before we had a 4 year old.

Life is really good right now. Our anniversary is coming up and I am really excited for a vaca! It is much needed. I just hope I can start feeling better soon!
